  1. A Paulding County man has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering his mother's boyfriend. According to deputies, Clark Chandler Anderson (then 22-years-old) shot and killed 56-year-old Kevin Mack Murr in June 2020 after an argument. A jury found Anderson guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. (WSB Atlanta)

  3. Sergeant Tyler Third and Officer Corey Johnson received Life Saving Awards on Tuesday. During the Jun. 7 Regular Session meeting of the Hiram Mayor and Council, Chief Michael Turner presented the awards to the pair for their roles in saving a man from death by suicide recently. The Hiram officers were praised for going above and beyond to ensure the best outcome of the situation. (City of Hiram)
  4. More than 900 Paulding County Elementary students returned for the Summer Learning Experience this week. Students returned both face-to-face and virtually at five different host locations — Dallas, Abney, McGarity, Nebo, and Baggett. Approximately 76 teachers are involved in the Summer Learning Experience, providing instruction across all sites. The Summer Learning Experience divides Reading/ELA and Math equally.
