Paulding County Road Work Updates, Shared By the Sheriff

Road projects throughout the county are either under way or will be beginning in the near future.

DALLAS, GA — On Tuesday, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office shared a list of updates on roadwork going on in the county.

The Facebook post included information on both current projects and ones that are scheduled to start soon.

Bill Carruth Parkway
· July 19 -- "splitting” traffic at the bridge and shifting southbound traffic to a new lane in the area of the Georgia State Patrol Post. The parkway becomes a divided highway for the entire length (One lane traffic in each direction).
· July 29 -- All turn lanes are scheduled to be functioning, signals complete, and guardrails installed before school begins the following Monday.
· August 8-31 -- night paving for final topping
· September 1 -- estimated date that all lanes will be open to traffic.

Bob Grogan Drive at Harmony Grove Church Road

· August 1 -- New signal scheduled to be operational

North Paulding Drive (North Campus)
· August 1 - North Paulding High School -- dual storage lanes for car-riders, reconfigured entrance area. Other work to improve rate of loading and unloading will continue into the fall.
· September 29 -- estimated completion of pedestrian/traffic improvements at Burnt Hickory Elementary and McClure Middle (crosswalk and new traffic signal)

Drainage work (affecting traffic)

· July 18-29 -- Old Yorkville Road closed for a culvert replacement between Buchanan Circle and Zion Church Road

Paving -- four contracts out for bid (due August 12th)
Safety -- line striping project out for bid to improve road visibility on 17 roads. County will also place center line raised pavement markers on two of the roads (Cheatham Road, Pine Shadows Drive).
