Paulding Has a Royal Baby Too!
Born on July 22, just nine hours after Prince George, Colton and Kayla Strickland, celebrated the birth of their own son, Levi Asher.
Just like England, Paulding County has its own new prince, born on the same day as Prince George. Levi Asher, son of Colton and Kayla Strickland, was born at 7:38 p.m., just nine hours after Prince William and the Dutchess Kate welcomed their new prince into the world at 4:24 p.m. London time.
The new heir to the throne weighed 8.6 pounds, while Levi weighed 8.4 pounds at birth.
"He's our little prince," exclaims grandma Stephanie Bailey, owner of Certain Strokes Pottery in downtown Dallas. "Mother and baby are doing fine."
It's mother Kayla's first baby and Stephanie's first grandbaby. Kayla grew up in Paulding County and graduated from South Paulding High School. Her family still lives in the County.
"He's our own prince charming," Stephanie said during a phone interview. "I don't know if you can tell, but I'm grinning from ear to ear."
As an even bigger coincidence, Levi was also born on the same day as Stephanie's pastor, Joe Pritchard of Paulding New Covenant Fellowship.
"He kept saying, 'he's going to be born on July 22nd,' and sure enough he was."
All babies born on the same day as the new Prince George will receive a silver penny, limited-edition coin, according to the British Sunday Express. Levi's parents plan to submit his birth certificate to see if they can get one.
