Paulding County results from key contested local races in Tuesday’s Georgia primary vote, as posted on county’s website:
State Senate 30: W.A Hembree beat incumbent Michael Dugan in the Republican primary, and will face Democrat James Nixon in the general election.

State House 17: Incumbent Howard Maxwell (R) beat challenger David Bond.
County Commission, Post 2: Patti Smith won the Democratic nomination and will face Todd Pownall in November.

County Commission, Post 3: Vernon Collett won 57 percent of the vote to beat two challengers for the Republican nomination.
County Commission, Post 4: Tony Crowe unseated incumbent David Barnett in the Republican primary. Crowe won with nearly 59 percent of the vote.
School Board, District 5: Incumbent Sammy McClure easily beat Earl Cosgrove with 62 percent of the vote.
Voter turnout in Paulding County was 9.8 percent.
