Police: Hiram Woman Had 2 Handguns at Courthouse in Villa Rica
She said she didn't know it was illegal to carry her guns into the courthouse; she also faces drug charges.

A Hiram woman was arrested after two handguns were found in her purse at the courthouse in Villa Rica.

Villa Rica Police said on Facebook that Barbara Lawson Snook, 44, also had other contraband on her person when she was searched at the security checkpoint at the Villa Rica Municipal Court on Friday, June 5.
“Snook admitted that she did not have a permit to carry the firearms concealed and claimed that she did not know it was illegal to carry firearms inside a courthouse,” the agency said in the post.

Also found were three hydrocodone pills in her pants pocket.
Snook was charged with two counts of carrying a weapon in unauthorized locations and one count of possession of a controlled substance, police said.
The woman was allowed to appear in municipal court on unrelated charges before being taken to the Carroll County Jail.
