Police Officer Who Lives In Hiram Arrested On Child Sex Charges

Roswell Police say the man, who is a part-time officer with a north Georgia police department, approached an undercover agent online.

HIRAM, GA — A police officer who lives in Hiram has been arrested on charges he tried to use the internet to arrange having sex with a child.

Abraham Flores Galvan is a part-time officer in Tunnel Hill, a northwest Georgia town situated along Interstate 75 between Dalton and Ringgold. Jail records show that Galvan lives in Hiram.

Roswell Police say that, on Thursday, Galvan went to a shopping center on Woodstock Road, in Roswell, planning to meet up for sex with a child under the age of consent. He was arrested there by police and members of the North Fulton SWAT team.

Roswell Police Department were part of a multi-agency undercover operation targeting online predators. They say that, during the operation, Galvan contacted an agent identifying themselves as being a child online.

The Tunnel Hill Police Department has been notified of his arrest, Roswell Police said.
