Police: Wanted Man Hijacked Car While Owner Was at Gas Pump
Warrants have been issued for man who stole the car while at Racetrac on Jimmy Lee Parkway.

The Hiram Police Department has issued arrest warrants for a Powder Springs man who allegedly hijacked a car while the driver was at the gas pump.
Zachary Ryan Shipp, 24, is wanted on charges of hijacking a motor vehicle and criminal damage to property stemming from a Friday, Aug. 8 incident at the Racetrac gas station on Jimmy Lee Parkway in Hiram.
According to the police report, Carlyne McPherson of Lithia Springs was pumping gas into her 2012 Toyota Camry around 5:30 p.m. Friday when a man, later positively identified as Shipp, approached her and asked to use her cell phone.

After a short period, the suspect threw down the phone and jumped into the car while the woman turned around to pick up the phone.
The woman tried to pull the man out of the car.

He said “I will kill you” several times and reached for an unknown object in his waistband, according to the police report.
Police put out a statewide “Be on the Lookout” (BOLO) for Shipp and the stolen car. He is described as a while male with tattoos all over him who was wearing a black T-Shirt. The car has a North Carolina license, tag number BKH9471.
