Powder Springs Man Hoping To Join Navy Killed At Cobb Party
A Powder Springs man who aspired to join the Navy was shot to death at a Cobb County house party over the weekend, police say.

POWDER SPRINGS, GA — A Powder Springs man who aspired to join the Navy was shot to death at a Cobb County house party over the weekend, police say. Cobb County Police say the victim is Rodeney Koen, 20, who friends identified to reporters as Ty Koen.
The shooting was reported at 12:40 a.m. Saturday at 4632 Hunter Road in Powder Springs. Officers arrived at the house party to find the body of Koen lying on the front walkway of the residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the manner and cause of death.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Koen was shot after an argument at the house. The gathering was described as a “coming home” gathering for a friend in the military.
Koen was working on his GED with the goal of enlisting in the Navy, according to WSB.
