Washington, D.C. – Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) [Monday] issued the following statement after co-sponsoring H. Res. 367, which expresses opposition to the Iran nuclear weapons agreement:
“The nuclear weapons agreement the Obama administration struck with Iran is a bad deal. It puts the United States, Israel and free societies around the world at risk by allowing Iran – a nation that already can’t be trusted – to purchase arms after five years, ballistic missiles after eight years and develop nuclear weapons after the deal sunsets in 10 to 15 years. Additionally, Iran, the largest state-sponsor of terrorism, will see a massive influx of cash that could be used to fund terrorist organizations. The evidence is clear: no deal is far better than a bad deal. The administration should either demand a better deal now or stay the course with the current sanctions, which are bringing Iran to its knees.”
