My sisters and I enjoyed an outing at the Carlos Museum in Emory recently. There is so much artwork to see there, but we came especially to see the Romare Bearden's "A Black Odyssey" exhibit. You will see amazing collages, watercolors, and prints with bright colors. This exhibit is based on Homer's "The Odyssey." The artwork was not just about the classic Greek tale, but spoke of a timeless yearning for us all to get home and struggles in between. Years ago we saw the Romare Bearden exhibit at the High. It was wonderful to see his artwork again and listen to the short film on Bearden in this exhibit. I would definitely recommend taking the time to see this interesting exhibit. It is on view until March 9, 2014.
