School Police Officer Teaching Kids to Ride Bikes
The deputy and his sergeant arranged to get some bicycles sent to Scoggins Middle School in Dallas.
DALLAS, GA — When Paulding County Sheriff's deputy Tad Vanderhoof heard there were middle school students who didn't know how to ride a bike, he was concerned.
So Vanderhoof, the school resource officer at Scoggins Middle School in Dallas, took action.
According to a social media post from the sheriff's office, Vanderhoof told his supervisor, Sgt. Wade Tanner, what he had learned.

Together, the two organized with Paulding's inmate workforce division, which fixed up some bicycles to send to the school.
And ever since, Vanderhoof and Tanner have been taking time out of their days to help teach students at Scoggins how to ride.

"What a great job to help these kids!" the sheriff's office Facebook post reads.
Others seemed to agree.
"That's awesome," wrote one follower on the Facebook post. "It's sad that kids today know more about video games than they know about being outside. I bet they were having fun while learning to ride."
