Sheriff Gulledge: 'Outpouring of Support Overwhelming'
"The loss of Corporal Sam Driskell and his family has been heartbreaking for us all."

Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge sent his appreciation to the community for its support while his department dealt with the loss of Cpl. Sam Driskell, who was shot to death in the recent tragic shootings at his home near Hiram.
Driskell and three family members were killed in what investigators say was a murder-suicide carried out by Driskell’s 21-year-old stepson. Their bodies were found Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the family residence on Ridge Road, south of Hiram.
Gulledge’s message was posted on the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page Friday morning:

On behalf of the Deputies, Detention Officers, and civilian staff at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers over the course of the past two weeks. The loss of Corporal Sam Driskell and his family has been heartbreaking for us all.
The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming. Special thanks needs to go to Clark Funeral Home and West Ridge Church for the truly amazing job that they did in helping us plan and conduct the funeral services. The countless businesses, churches, groups, and citizens that brought food and other donations made this day bearable for everyone. I am truly proud to be the Sheriff of Paulding County and appreciate everyone’s support during this trying time.
