The Georgia State Patrol said the number of traffic deaths on state roads during the Thanksgiving break <a href="https://dps.georgia.gov/press-releases/2014-12-01/thanksgiving-holiday-traffic-count" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">nearly doubled the 2013 count</a>.In statistics released Monday, the patrol said 19 traffic deaths were reported during the 102-hour holiday period — 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 to midnight Sunday, Nov. 30.The 2013 total for the same period was 10.The agency said 15 of the deaths were investigated by the GSP, 4 by local agencies.No deaths were reported in the Troop A area, which includes Paulding County.
