The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Paulding County until 8:45 p.m.
Parts of Pickens, Gordon, Cobb, Bartow and Cherokee counties are also in the warned area.

At 8:21 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located in the Waleska area and moving southeast at 50 mph.
Wind gusts to 70 mph and quarter-sized hail have been reported.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for a large area in north and central Georgia until 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The watch covers all of metro Atlanta and north Georgia, including Paulding County.
Storms moving south into Georgia from Tennessee could bring damaging winds, frequent lightning, large hail and heavy rain later tonight, the weather service said.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of severe weather.
