Winter Weather: The Wrecks Of Paulding County
The Paulding County Sheriff's Office saw plenty of folks who took a chance on the icy roads when they shouldn't have this weekend.
DALLAS, GA — They tried to warn us. But, whether out of necessity, or just plain stubbornness, some Paulding County residents decided to test the icy roads over the weekend.

The first good look at how bad things had gotten came Friday night:
The impact of the storm would be felt for days afterward, though. One of the weekend's most dramatic posts showed two vehicles that couldn't stay on the road Sunday — one on Old Griffin Road and the other on Mt. Tabor Church Road.

Part of the problem, perhaps, was folks assuming that, after the storm's initial blast, things would clear up and quickly get back to normal. As the sheriff's office noted in this post, a lot of the moisture that thawed during the day on Saturday just froze again when things cooled down Saturday night.
Even big rigs weren't immune. This 18-wheeler couldn't make it up a hill on Ga. 41 near Paulding County High School.
More of the same off of Woodrow Kay Road in Yorkville.
By Monday morning, things were looking better on most Paulding County roads. But there were still ice patches to be found, and the sheriff's office was still urging caution. Be careful out there!
