• Dalton Police Seek Information On iPhone Thief (chattanoogan.com) — Dalton police are asking for your help identifying a man who allegedly stole an iPhone Pro Max 17 from a customer at a convenience store on 4th Avenue. Surveillance video shows a bearded suspect in black clothing taking the phone while the victim stepped away, and officers are urging anyone who recognizes him to call a listed department contact number.
   

• Jack Lynn Tankersley (chattanoogan.com) — Dalton is mourning longtime barber and musician Jack Lynn Tankersley, 87, whose life and service to the community are being honored this weekend. Friends and family can pay respects at Ponders Melrose Chapel in Dalton and a Sunday funeral at the Church of God of the Union Assembly, followed by burial with military honors at Spring Place Memorial Gardens.
   

• Motown Magic returns to Senior Center (daltoncitizen.com) — Dalton seniors can look forward to a Motown-themed dance night at the Whitfield County Senior Center on Oct. 2, complete with music, contests, and supper. The center also has a busy fall and winter schedule, from a free Senior Expo and legal services program to holiday lunches, concerts, and a special Veterans' Christmas event, all happening in or near Dalton.
