• Dalton council still weighing millage rate ahead of tonight's final hearing, vote (daltoncitizen.com) — Dalton residents have one last chance tonight to speak out before the City Council sets the 2026 property tax rate at a 6 p.m. hearing at City Hall. Officials have advertised a 1.661-mill rate but may choose something lower, weighing new revenue data and the combined impact of other local tax authorities on your final bill.
   

• GNTC Foundation awards fall 2026 scholarships (daily-tribune.com) — Dalton students at Georgia Northwestern Technical College have earned several fall scholarships, including awards for criminal justice, nursing, construction management, trucking, and healthcare management. The GNTC Foundation distributed more than $54,000 across 59 students, many from Whitfield County and surrounding communities, helping cover tuition, supplies, and other costs as they prepare for in-demand careers across northwest Georgia.
