2 Brother Armed Robbery Team Apprehended: Police

Two brothers responsible for numerous armed robberies in the Snellville area were apprehended May 24, police say.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Members of a robbery crew responsible for numerous armed robberies in the Snellville area were apprehended May 24 by the Gwinnett County Police Department Robbery Unit.

Deontae and Kenneth Robinson have been arrested. Deontae Robinson has been charged with three counts each of armed robbery and aggravated assault. Kenneth Robinson has been charged with four counts of armed robbery and three counts of aggravated assault. Both have been charged with the possession of the firearm.

Although Kenneth Robinson is a juvenile, due to the severity of the crimes, he is being charged as an adult.

Three gas stations along Stone Mountain Highway and Highpoint Road in unincorporated Snellville have been the target of a number of armed robberies since March. The brothers used a handgun to demand cash and cigarillos from cashiers at the stations and once robbed two people sitting in their car outside an adjoining laundromat.

The two brothers were identified from surveillance footage and then traced to a residence along Highpoint Road. At the home, police found stolen property from the robberies as well as the clothing the Robinsons wore on video during the robberies. The firearm used to commit the robberies was also recovered.

Although Kenneth Robinson is a juvenile, due to the severity of the crimes, he is being charged as an adult.
