DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The two teenagers who were shot and killed Saturday in a Sitka Drive house party were identified as 15-year-old Samuel Moon and 14-year-old Ajanaye Hill, Douglas County Sheriff's Capt. Jon Mauney said Monday at a news conference.

Seven more teenagers were shot and taken to a hospital either by car or an ambulance, Mauney said.

Moon was a 10th grader at Lithia Springs High School, and Hill was a ninth grader at Douglas County High. A GoFundMe has been set up for Hill.

The sheriff's office is offering a $20,000 reward in the arrest and prosecution of a suspect in the shooting.

Mauney said authorities responded to the scene around 10:45 p.m., when they saw a large group of people in cars, in the road and in the woods. He said one person was found dead in the road and another person was found dead in the driveway of a home near a cul-de-sac.

Several people were attending a party at Sitka Drive, ranging from middle-schoolers to young adults, Mauney said. The owners of the home shut down the party because people were using marijuana and there were a large number of attendees, he said.

The shooting happened about 50 yards from where the party was being hosted, Mauney said.

Dashcam footage from the sheriff's office will be released showing the authorities' response to the shooting, Mauney said. He did not say when the footage will be released.

"This was a huge scene," Mauney said. "This went from one roadway, down another roadway (and) down a cul-de-sac, and based off of initial information, people scattered. People went everywhere."

Douglas County Sheriff Tim Pounds said the shooting was a "senseless killing" and noted the sheriff's office is committed to arresting the shooting suspect.

"It's a root cause of these children killing children, and we must as a community and as a sheriff figure that cause out and address that cause immediately," Pounds said.

Douglas County District Attorney Dalia Racine called the shooting "an all out assault on our young people."

"It is absolutely devastating that we are having this conversation again. ... We have got to figure out a solution," she said.

"I'm not saying this just as a prosecutor that believes in the greatness of our community because Douglas County is a great community. I am saying this also as a parent of children the same age as those precious babies that we had to see dead lying in the street, those parents that will forever remember this time as one of the worst in their lives. I am saying this as a parent who truly believes that we can make this world a safer place for our kids to exist."

Racine asked the Douglas County community to "step up" and share information with authorities relating to the case.

"As a community, we deserve better, and we will make sure that happens," she said. " ... To all the families that have been so deeply impacted and broken by this horrific crime, know that we are praying for you and that we will stand by you throughout this entire process."

Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the party's attendees. More than 80 witnesses were taken to the sheriff's office, but Mauney said a large group of people left before authorities arrived.

Mauney asked for witnesses who have not spoken to an investigator to call (770) 920-7139.
