Drug Dealer/Pimp Convicted for 2012 Death of Douglas County Man
Remond Sinkfield was convicted and sentenced for murder of Levi Atkinson, who jumped from moving car to escape.

A reputed drug dealer/pimp was found guilty last week for the murder of a Douglas County man.
Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced in a news release that Remond Sinkfield, 34, was convicted by jury late Friday for the 2012 death of Levi Atkinson, 54, who died from injuries he sustained when he jumped from a moving car to get away from Sinkfield.
Atkinson was found badly injured on Jan. 24, 2012 near the intersection of Fulton Industrial Boulevard and I-20. He died four days later.

He told police he jumped from the car to escape from Sinkfield, who allegedly went to Atkinson’s home in Douglas County demanding money for drugs and prostitutes, according to the news release.
Prosecutors said Sinkfield then coerced Atkinson into driving to various locations to borrow money.

“Fearing for his life, Atkinson jumped from the moving car. He suffered a broken hip and arm and fractured several vertebrae. He was hospitalized for his injuries but died four days later from a blood clot that developed as a result of his bone fractures,” the Fulton DA’s office said in the release
Sinkfield was convicted of felony murder, aggravated assault with intent to rob, motor vehicle theft and giving false information.
He was sentenced to life plus 11 years in prison by presiding Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford.
