New Jersey Fugitive Arrested in Douglas County

A man wanted for attempted murder in New Jersey has been arrested in Douglas County, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

Dewayne Pinkey was arrested May 4 without incident by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Investigations Unit and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, DCSO said in a news release.
Pinkey was wanted out of Mercer County, N.J.

The sheriff’s office said the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in New Jersey sent a lead to the Atlanta Task Force Office that Pinkey may be in the county. He was located at a Douglas County residence.
Pinkey is awaiting extradition back to New Jersey, the sheriff’s office said.
