New Jersey Murder Suspect Could Be In Atlanta Area: FBI

Dennis M. Cunningham, wanted in connection to a May 12 shooting in Irvington, NJ, has ties to Douglasville and the small town of Jessup.

ATLANTA, GA -- The FBI Atlanta Field Office and its counterpart in Newark, New Jersey, are asking residents to be on the lookout of a man wanted on murder charges who could be in the Atlanta area.

Dennis M. Cunningham, aka Muhamad, is wanted by Irvington, New Jersey, police in connection to a May 12 fatal shooting.

At around 12:33 p.m. Irvington officers responded to a call of shots fired. They arrived to find a male victim, Dino Bermudez, 34, on the front porch of the home. Bermudez was conscious, but sustained gunshot wounds to his left thigh. He was transported to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Cunningham is described as a black male about 6’2” tall and weighs around 215 pounds. Cunningham has family in the Douglasville area, but also has ties to the southeast Georgia town of Jessup, the FBI said.

The FBI has also charged Cunningham with federal Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
