Dunn was born and raised in South Florida, and is inspired by her father through his photography and acrylic paintings.

The ocean and the coast continue to be an influence in her art – architecture and the abstract art also play a large role in her vision. An active member of the Sweetwater Camera Club and the Paulding Photography Club, Dunn has won several awards including “Photographer of the Year” at SWCC two years in a row, and two of her photographs are in the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/ Douglas County permanent collection.

She currently lives in Lithia Springs, Ga., where she spends her spare moments with her five grandsons. Dunn’s hobbies, other than photography, include playing golf and collecting antique thimbles.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Marjorie Foster studied Textile Design at the Cleveland Institute of Art; she then moved to Atlanta with her husband and started a family. Later in life, she returned to finish her BFA in Textile Design at Georgia State University.

More recently, Foster has studied portrait and figure painting with Roman and Constantine Chatov.

Today she devotes her talents to painting exclusively in oils. Having been a child of the Depression era, which was followed by World War II, Foster feels the need to present an uplifting aspect to the viewer by utilizing a colorful palette and

experimental techniques.

By incorporating one of her favorite quotes into her artwork, “The power of the suggestive is much greater than the statement of reality,” Foster is now expanding her outlook to paint landscapes ranging in subject, implementing a “sgraffito” painterly style.

Foster is a member of Art Station of Stone Mountain and Dunwoody Fine Art Association. The Atlanta Artists Center, the largest fine art organization in the Southeastern USA, awarded Foster their highest credential, “Member of Excellence.” Foster’s collectors reside all across the country, including Georgia, Irving, TX., West Orange, NJ., Greer, S.C., Baton Rouge, LA., and Key Largo, FL.
