In July authorities received information that Banks was working as a Registered Nurse providing home health care. She was responsible for providing medical assistance to children who had serious medical conditions requiring treatment outside of a hospital setting, officials said.

The Sheriff's Office discovered Banks used the license of a certified Registered Nurse that she had obtained illegally. Banks also did not hold a license to work as a Registered Nurse in Georgia.

When Banks was arrested, she confirmed she was posing as a Registered Nurse for more money and had only completed a Certified Nursing Assistant program, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Banks was charged with cruelty to children, identity theft, reckless conduct, forgery and willful destruction of medical records.

An investigation is ongoing.
