Own a Piece of Marietta Square
The City of Marietta is selling bricks laid around the Square in 1917 for $25.

If you'd like to own a piece of Marietta's past, original bricks used to pave the first streets around the Square in 1917 are available for purchase.
About the bricks:
- Originally used by a single bricklayer, Jim Lucas, to pave streets for first time around Marietta Square
- Larger and heavier than today's standard-sized bricks
- Lucas laid 1,700 bricks per day to pave the streets
- Discovered in 2009 while workers completed four-month makeover of the Square
- Comes with certificate of authenticity and sticker explaining history
- $25
- Each brick comes with a free copy of a book of facts about the city's history
- On sale in Marietta's Purchasing Department, first floor of , 205 Lawrence St.
