The first event will take place at 10 a.m. March 18 at Smith Plantation, which is located at 935 Alpharetta Street.

Open to the public, the event continues a tradition started by Lizzie Smith, oldest child of Archibald and Anne Smith, who held Easter Egg Hunts for local children in the early 20th century.

Admission is $5 per person, and children should bring their own baskets to enjoy finding candy-filled treats.

For more information, call the Smith Plantation at 770-641-9378 or contact Kristen Thomasberger at kthomasberger@roswellgov.com.

On March 19, children will be able to hunt for eggs in the dark with nothing but a flashlight and their senses.

This event, which requires registration to attend, will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the East Roswell Recreation Center.

Along with traditional eggs, participants should keep an eye out for the Golden Egg for a special basket of prizes. Light refreshments will be served before the event begins, and guests will also be graced with a special VIP visit from a very special bunny.

Everyone attending must register - both children and adults - and that can be done by clicking here.

All children must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 1 are free. The East Roswell Recreation Center is located at 9000 Fouts Road.
