A shootout at a Cobb County Walmart on Monday started as an incident of road rage, according to police. Before it was all over, a 62-year-old man had shot a 23-year-old, after which that man's female friend pulled her own handgun and returned fire.

HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, remains in decline nationally, but is geographically concentrated, according to a new report. More than half of new HIV cases in 2016 were in Southern states, where 38 percent of U.S. residents live, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
