Commission Candidate’s “Call for Action” Generates Safety Meeting
Immediate Results Achieved for our South Cobb Community.
I am happy that my “Call to Action” has generated immediate results for our South Cobb community. Several days ago I announced my candidacy for Cobb County Commission, District 4. I immediately issued a press release relative to safety being a major concern and quality of life issue for the South Cobb area.
As a result of this request, a Public Safety and Technology Town Hall meeting has been quickly organized and scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the South Cobb Recreation Center. On hand to talk to residents of the community will be Deputy Chief Stuart VanHoozer, Major Craig Owens, and Captain Billy Mitchell. I am grateful that current decision makers agreed with me that this needed to occur within our South Cobb community and are allowing our Police Leadership to host this event.
The powers that be agreed with me that this needed to occur within our South Cobb community. As I shared in my press release, safety meetings like this had occurred in other parts of Cobb, but not in our community of South Cobb. Our community wants the best quality of life possible for our families and public safety plays an important role. It is also the bridge to allowing good economic development, better paying jobs and good housing to come to our community of South Cobb.

Please make plans now to attend this important meeting and share this information with your neighbors, friends, and family that live in South Cobb. Many of us have felt the frustration of not being heard on issues that impact our community. The first step to being heard is being in the room and expressing ourselves. Fighting crime in our community is not just a job for the Police. We all have a role to play to make and keep our community safe.
Attorney Terry Alexis Cummings, a Candidate for the Georgia House of Representatives for District 39 will also be in attendance. Terry has a distinguished 30-year career in law enforcement with the U. S. Justice Department. She will be on hand to answer questions before and after the meeting.
