Destiny World Church Kicks Off New School Year With Festival

DWC Austell hosts Back To School Festival.

On Saturday, in Austell, welcomed students and parents with their "Back To School Community Festival & Health Fair." More than 800 people attended the event, according to DWC, and 423 backpacks with supplies were given away at the event.

Sensing a need in the community, the DWC Security Ministry hosted over 75 vendors (both onsite and participating) for the event, which included free haircuts, school supplies and food.

Georgia Power, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Douglas, Cobb and various other county police and fire departments were on hand providing safety infomation and answering questions. The Red Cross collected 76 donations of a total of 48 pints of blood, and Wellstar Health checked blood pressure and provided information on well-living.

Bounce houses, funnel cakes, frozen ice and the Chick-fil-A Cow kept kids entertained throughout the day.  Mr. Cardio worked the crowd with line dance moves designed to get your heart rate up and your body weight down.

The Marching Band performed and the Atlanta Falcons' Cheerleaders autographed photos.
