'Saturdays With My Rep' Back for 4th Installment

The professional development program, hosted and facilitated by Rep. Alisha Morgan, helps students at South Cobb High and Pebblebrook High schools.

who represents South Cobb, announced the fourth installment of her signature β€œSaturdays with My State Rep” program, which helps and students develop professionally.

Morgan facilitates the program, which is free for each student selected to participate. The program’s six interactive sessions address issues like resume-writing, interview skills and maintaining healthy relationships and are taught by accomplished community members, including Morgan herself.

β€œWe are deeply committed to students in South Cobb receiving a holistic education. The skills they learn in the Saturdays program will aide in their success in college and life," said Morgan in a press release. β€œThis year, I am especially excited and grateful for the partnership with STING INC., and the support State Farm, both to ensure the program's success. "

Participants will meet each Saturday from Oct. 15 to Nov. 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a free lunch will be provided.Β 

β€œThe students are in for a real treat this year.Β  We are hoping to have no more than 25 students to optimize the learning potential for each student, so it will be important to apply early,” stated the program’s manager, April Jones, in a release.

Founded by Morgan in 2008, the β€œSaturdays with My State Rep” Program relies on local donations and the support of local volunteers. This year, the program will be funded by State Farm Insurance.Β Β  The program has served nearly 50 students and will continue to serve students of the South Cobb community as long as there is student interest and continued community support.
