South Cobb Patch Weekly Sports Recap

Pebblebrook wins their first baseball game of the season, Whitefield boys' soccer team has a solid week.

Whitefield Academy

The boys soccer team won their weekend match at home against Pacelli Catholic High, 3-2. Their next match is a road game at Our Lady of Mercy on Tuesday, March 22 at 5 p.m. The girls’ soccer team went 1-2 last week, winning 5-2 early in the week against Strong Rock Christian, and losing 6-0 to Lovett and 4-3 on penalty kicks against Pacelli. The Lady Wolfpack play an away game versus Our Lady of Mercy on Tuesday, March 22 at 7 p.m.

Whitefield’s baseball team had a tough week, losing 15-5 to Campbell and 13-2 to St. Francis. Their game on March 15 versus Strong Rock Christian was rained out. The Wolfpack’s (4-6) two games on the schedule this week include the rescheduled home contest against Strong Rock Christian, Wednesday, March 23 at 5 p.m. and a match-up against First Presbyterian Day, Friday, March 25 at 5 p.m.

In tennis, the boys won their match against Lovett 3-2, while the girls loss 5-0. The boys and girls match against Fellowship Christian on March 15 was rained out. The boys play on the road against Pace Academy on Tuesday, March 22 at 4.p.m. In contrast, Whitefield’s girls will host Pace on the same date and time.   

The boys lacrosse team split a pair of games last week, winning 6-5 versus Brookwood and losing 11- 6 to Whitewater. Their next contest is an away game against Pace Academy on Tuesday, March 22 at 5 p.m.

Pebblebrook

Pebblebrook’s baseball team won their first game of the season and only game of the week, 15-5 against Osborne. The Falcons next game is at home against North Cobb, Thursday, March 24 at 6 p.m. 

The boys’ tennis squad lost their Wednesday rescheduled match against North Cobb, 5-0. The following day, they loss their second match of the week versus Kennesaw Mountain 5-0 as well. The boys play their next match on the road against McEachern, Tuesday, March 22.  The girls’ team loss their only match of the week on Thursday against Kennesaw Mountain 5-0. They play their next match at home against Campbell, Monday, March 21 at 4:30 p.m. 

South Cobb

South Cobb baseball team had a couple of rough outings last week, losing 11-1 to Wheeler and 7-2 versus Hiram. The Eagles play their next game on the road against Kennesaw Mountain, Thursday, March 24 at 6 p.m.

The boys’ tennis team loss their match against McEachern, 3-2 this past Wednesday. Their next outing takes place at Kennesaw Mountain, Tuesday, March 22. The girls’ tennis team also loss to McEachern last week, 5-0. Their next match-up is an away match at Kennesaw Mountain, Tuesday, March 22 at 4:30 p.m.

The girls’ lacrosse squad split a pair of games last week, winning 9-8 against Campbell and losing to Hillgrove, 12-2. The Lady Eagles play their next game at home against Wheeler, Tuesday, March 29 at 5:30 p.m.

The girls’ soccer team was on the wrong end of a 10-0 loss against Kennesaw Mountain early in the week. Their next contest is on the road at Hillgrove, Tuesday, March 22 at 5:30 p.m.
