• - September, 19, Fundraiser donations due, Hard Workers Club meeting. The school is also looking for volunteers to be “Teacher for a Day” on September 29, as well as volunteers to work the school’s Fall Festival on October 7th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
• - September 19, 5th grade parents meeting in the media center, 6:30 p.m., last day to order school tie dye shirts; September 20, Mom’s Club in the media center, 7:30 a.m., PTA members free skate night at Sparkles in Smyrna, 6:30 p.m; September 21, 5th grade Chick-fil-A biscuit sale, 7:15 a.m.

General School District Happenings

• On September 21, 2011 from 3:00PM-4:00PM, State Superintendent of Education, John D. Barge, along with staff in the GA Department of Education Curriculum and Instruction division, will host a web-delivered broadcast through Georgia Public Broadcasting to introduce to all stakeholders the upcoming Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS).
