• Sylvania reports wastewater permit exceedance into Buck Creek (wrdw.com) — Sylvania officials report that treated wastewater discharged into Buck Creek recently exceeded state limits for biochemical oxygen demand, with more than 5 million gallons affected between August and late September. The city attributes the problem to plant equipment issues during upgrades, says aerators have been fixed, and reports that no further discharges are occurring while the source of high incoming waste strength is investigated.
