• Villa Rica's Orr awarded PAGE Undergraduate Scholarship (times-georgian.com) — Villa Rica resident Addison Orr has earned a $1,500 PAGE Undergraduate Scholarship to support her final year studying elementary education and teaching English as a foreign language at Berry College. Her award comes with a commitment to teach in Georgia classrooms, meaning her training and passion for literacy could soon benefit students not far from Villa Rica. 
• Update: 4 fatalities include 2 pedestrians on Georgia roads before end of 2026 Labor Day travel (monroelocal.org) — State troopers from Post 4 in Villa Rica are among those responding to serious crashes during the 2026 Labor Day travel period, which has already seen four traffic deaths statewide.
