Fundraiser Underway For Pedestrian Killed In Woodstock Accident
Kathy Deming, 61, died Sept. 19, nearly two weeks after she and two Hurricane Irma evacuees were hit by a vehicle in downtown Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK, GA -- The community is being asked to come together and help the family of a Marietta woman who died this week from injuries sustained in a pedestrian collision that killed a Hurricane Irma evacuee and her infant baby in downtown Woodstock.
The fundraiser for Kathy Deming, 61, is aiming to raise $2,000. Those funds will be donated to help Deming's husband, Mike, pay for any expenses arising from his wife's passing.
Deming died Tuesday, Sept. 19, nearly two weeks after she was hospitalized following the accident, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office previously told Patch (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

Kaitlin Hunt, 28, and her 3-month-old baby girl, Riley, were both crossing Arnold Mill Road near Hubbard Road with Deming around 8:16 p.m. Sept. 9 when they were hit by a Jeep Patriot driven by 17-year-old Zoe Reardon of Atlanta.
Riley passed away that evening while Hunt and Deming, a resident of Marietta, were both transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Kaitlin Hunt succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, Sept. 12, Cherokee Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley previously told Patch.

Kaitlin and Riley Hunt, both of Port St. Lucie, Florida, were Hurricane Irma evacuees who were in the city enjoying a night out with family and friends when the accident occurred.
The GoFundMe campaign organizer, Viktoriia Bogdanov, said in addition to everyone's prayers, "we would greatly appreciate any cash donations to help Kathy's family with huge medical bills." Organizers are hoping to raise $2,000 to help the Deming family. However, as of early Friday afternoon, only $896 has been contributed.
