2. 7 flight attendants fell ill after odor aboard flight from LAX (staradvertiser.com) — Seven flight attendants were evaluated for nausea and headaches after reporting an unknown odor aboard an Alaska Airlines flight operated by Hawaiian Airlines from Los Angeles to Honolulu, which landed safely at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Honolulu EMS and other agencies responded to Terminal 1 around 12:30 p.m., but all crew declined hospital transport as the airline inspects the aircraft before returning it to service.
   

3. FBI arrests ex-Moanalua High School girls wrestling coach (staradvertiser.com) — Honolulu's FBI field office has arrested former Moanalua High School girls wrestling coach Sean Sakaida on federal child pornography charges and is asking potential victims to come forward. Investigators believe he may have targeted minor female wrestlers between 2012 and 2026 at multiple Oahu schools, and say victims could be eligible for services and support as the case proceeds.
   

4. Staff and leaders at Hawaii nonprofits build AI agents for future opportunities (kitv.com) — In Honolulu, local nonprofits gathered this week to learn how to build their first AI agents, with tech coaches guiding them through practical tools in just two hours. Leaders from groups like Kaneohe's Kanehunamoku Voyaging Academy say AI could streamline grant writing and expand services for rural and Native Hawaiian communities, while experts emphasize that you no longer need programming skills to benefit.
   

5. Kauai CC rallies behind students after Hurricane Lowell (hawaiinewsnow.com) — Students at Kauaʻi Community College are getting extra help recovering from Hurricane Lowell, including emergency aid, mental health counseling from Kapiʻolani CC and Honolulu CC, and access to a new sensory room. Many students lost power for days and struggled with childcare and coursework, while the campus food pantry, hot meals, and community donations are helping them meet basic needs and stay in school.
