Illinois AG asked to probe 24 taxing bodies' referendum campaigns (regionalmedianews.com) — Deerfield Public Schools District 109 is among 24 Illinois taxing bodies cited by Americans for Prosperity Illinois in a request for state investigations into alleged use of public funds to support referendum campaigns. The group says consultants helped districts secure billions in new tax collections and wants the attorney general and several state's attorneys, including Lake County's, to act before more referendums appear on November ballots.
