Bike thefts reported throughout the village; co-worker chases another around the office; family headstone defaced: Glenview Police Blotter

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

- A resident in the 1000 block of Heatherfield Lane reported at 2:15 p.m. June 2 a contractor improperly using equipment causing debris to strike their house. There is no loss.
- An employee at a business in the 1400 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 5:36 p.m. June 3 to report being yelled at and chased around the office by a co-worker.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
- A patron of the Sunset Memorial Lawns cemetery, 3100 Shermer Road, reported at 1:02 p.m. June 2 someone defaced the family’s headstone by drawing on it in black marker. There is no loss.
- A passerby on the railroad overpass called police at 9:23 a.m. June 3 to report graffiti in the 500 block of Waukegan Road. There is no reported loss.
POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

- A 26-year-old Chicago man was issued an ordinance violation ticket at 11:09 p.m. June 2 for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis in the 2700 block of Aviator Lane after suspected cannabis was observed in his car parked in the parking garage.
- Four teenagers from Skokie and Glenview, between the ages of 16-17, are accused of possessing cannabis at 12:15 a.m. June 7 and were issued ordinance violation citations in the 4100 block of Cover Lane. Police were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle.
UNWANTED PERSON
An employee in the 1400 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 8:15 a.m. June 3 to report arguing with his supervisor and being sent home.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
- A passerby reported at 7:46 p.m. June 3 someone defaced a village sign on Patriot Boulevard, north of Chestnut Avenue, with a black marker. The reported loss is $100.
- A resident in the 3800 block of Harvest Lane called police at 10:33 a.m. June 3 to report someone broke a window on the front door of their house. The reported loss is $200.
- A resident in the 2500 block of West Lake Avenue called police at 12:04 p.m. June 4 to report someone cut their vehicle tire with a sharp object. The reported loss is $2,500.
- A resident in the 2200 block of Janet Drive reported at 11:21 a.m. June 4 the front driver’s side window of their vehicle was shattered while parked on the street. The reported loss is $100.
- An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 7:13 June 4 to report a guest damaged the door jamb on a room. The reported loss is $300.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
- An employee of a business in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported at 9:14 a.m. June 3 receiving threats by telephone after dismissing an employee.
- An employee of a business in the 100 block of Waukegan Road called police at 8:17 a.m. June 5 to report receiving a threatening message through social media.
- An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 2:49 p.m. June 8 receiving a threat through a social media posting.
- A food delivery service driver called police at 7:42 p.m. June 8 to report someone walked up to her yelling and calling her names in the 2800 block of Knollwood Lane.
THEFT
- A Glenview Road resident reported at 11:33 a.m. June 4 receiving a solicitation for a fundraiser and found out later the mailing was a scam. The reported loss is $15.
- A park patron at in the 1600 block of Wagner Road called police at 10:08 a.m. June 4 to report a man took a bike without permission. There is no loss.
- A resident in the 1900 block of Robincrest Lane reported at 8:20 p.m. June 5 someone stole a bicycle stored outside of their garage. The reported loss is $450.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
- A resident in the 1400 block of Limar Lane called police at 8:41 a.m. June 5 to report someone entered their unlocked garage and stole a bicycle. The total value is $300.
- A resident in the 3700 block of Rugen Road reported at 9:45 p.m. June 5 someone entered their unlocked garage and stole a bicycle. The total value is $50.
- A resident in the 1500 block of Longvalley Road called police at 7:08 a.m. June 8 to report someone removed a bicycle from their open garage during the last week. The reported loss is $1,000.
HARASSMENT
A Countryside Lane resident reported at 2:03 p.m. June 6 receiving threatening phone calls.
CURFEW VIOLATIONS
Two 12-year-old boys from Glenview were given a curfew warning at 2:48 am. June 7 and returned home after officers found them walking in the area of Willow Road and Shermer Road.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
A Tanglewood Drive resident reported at 11:29 a.m. June 8 sending gift cards numbers to a man who represented being an Amazon employee and needing to unlock their account. The reported loss is $800.
BURGLARY
A resident in the 2300 block of Fir Street called police at 4:57 p.m. June 8 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway overnight and rummaged through it. Nothing was taken and there is no loss.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE
Alyssa Witt, 24, of the 9000 block of Culver Street, Des Plaines, is accused of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and improper lane usage, and was arrested at 2:30 p.m. June 5 following a traffic investigation from the prior day in the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue. She was released on $2,500 bond and has a court date of July 7 in Skokie.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO PROPERTY
Danielle Honaker, 23, of the 3800 block of Glenview Road, Glenview, is accused of theft and criminal trespass to property and was arrested at 8:58 p.m. June 5 following an investigation of the theft of a bicycle in the 3800 block of Lindenwood Lane. She was released on a $1,000 bond has a court date of July 27 in Skokie.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
James Whitehead, 24, of the 4800 block of West Van Buren Street, Chicago, is charged with driving with no valid license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lighting, and was arrested at 2:28 a.m. June 6 in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was released on a $2,500 bond and given a court date of July 9.
