Update: Glenview Protest Concludes
The Glenview Police Department was advising residents to avoid several streets Monday due to a protest of the death of George Floyd.

UPDATE: The Glenview Police Department announced at around 7:12 p.m. Monday that the protest is over and the area is cleared.
GLENVIEW, IL — The Glenview Police Department issued a traffic alert warning at around 12:30 p.m. Monday due to a planned peaceful protest in connection with George Floyd's death in Minnesota. Police are telling residents to avoid the area of East Lake Avenue and Shermer Road until further notice.
Earlier Monday, the Glenview Police Department issued a statement on Floyd.

"What happened to George Floyd is reprehensible and unacceptable. As the Glenview Police Department works to ensure you have the ability to express your First Amendment rights, we ask you to do it in a safe and peaceful manner," the statement reads. "The safety of our residents, officers and the community we serve is our top priority."
