Update: Man Who Jumped Off Downtown Parking Deck Left Suicide Message on Voice Recorder: Cops
The man told people to ask his family why he jumped, police said.

The 23-year-old man found dead Friday night at the foot of a downtown parking deck left a suicide message on a voice recorder, police said.
The recorder was located on the top of the Ottawa Street deck. On the message, the man told people to ask his family why he jumped from the five-story structure.
The man was found on the west side of the parking deck beneath a bent metal railing shortly after 9 p.m. He was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by emergency room doctors.

An autopsy performed Saturday showed the man died of injuries consistent with a “fall from heights,” according to Coroner Patrick O’Neil’s office.
The man’s name was being withheld Sunday while his relatives traveled to cities around the country to tell his siblings about the death in person, O’Neil said.

Police reportedly followed a long trail of footprints in the snow to the voice recorder, which was directly above where the man was found.
