Woman Shot to Death and Left in Ditch Disappeared When Boyfriend Killed in January

Chinesicia Hill-King had a warrant out for her arrest and was also wanted for questioning about her boyfriend's death.

The Joliet woman found shot to death in a Zurich Road ditch Wednesday night had been missing since her boyfriend was killed in January.

Chinesicia Hill-King, 24, was wanted for questioning about the death of her boyfriend, Michael Brock. Hill-King also had a warrant out for her arrest. She faced felony domestic battery charges.

Hill-King was identified through her fingerprints.

Hill-King’s body was riddled with bullets. She apparently had been in the ditch for some time, as sources said her body was so frozen stiff it was doubtful an autopsy could be performed Thursday.

Will County Coroner Patrick O’Neil said the “exact date and time of Ms. Hill-King’s death remains under investigation.”

Brock’s body was found in an Ottawa Street alley. Police initially began investigating the 24-year-old man’s death as a hit and run but later said he was shot once before being run over by a car.

Debris near Brock’s body later turned out to have come from Hill-King’s abandoned, damaged 2003 Monte Carlo, according to the Joliet police.

In 2012, Hill-King said she was the sister of convicted killer Sjolante Crowder. Crowder, 20, was found guilty of gunning down three men in a Second Avenue ambush, taking two of their lives. He was sentenced to life in prison.

After Crowder’s bond hearing, Hill-King told Patch that her brother could not have been the triggerman responsible for the killings because she was talking to him on the telephone at the time of the gun attack. Hill-King conceded that said she did not actually know where Crowder was or what he was doing while they were talking.
