• Jury convicts Streator man of 1st-degree murder in 2021 Montgomery shooting (shawlocal.com) — A Kane County jury has convicted a Streator man of first-degree murder for a 2021 shooting on the Illinois Route 30 ramp in Montgomery that killed 29-year-old Aurora resident Andrew Contreras while his child and a friend were in the car. Montgomery police led the investigation that identified the shooter, who now faces at least 45 years in prison, with sentencing motions set for October 22.
