Northbrook Pool Renovation Concepts To Be Presented at Open House
Two designs will be up for discussion at June 23 gathering.
Preliminary concepts for the renovation of the Northbrook Sports Center Pool will be presented during an Open House planned for Tuesday, June 23 from 5-8 p.m. in the Community Room of the Sports Center at 1730 Pfingsten Road.
“The popular community pool is almost 50 years old and needs to be replaced, along with the filter system, mechanical systems, underground piping and concrete deck,” according to a Northbrook Park District news release. “Due to age and normal deterioration over time, the proposed work is required for continued pool operation.”

“The District listened to the residents, who asked us to maintain and update existing facilities,” said Ed Dalton, Director of Parks and Properties for the Park District. “The concept plans both work with the existing footprint of the pool area and include enhancements for patrons, such as an improved family changing area, easy entry/exit steps in the diving well, and new amenities for the diving well.”
Construction on the project is expected to begin in August of 2016, with the pool reopening planned for June of 2017.
