Resident Accused Of Spray-Painting Spree: Blotter

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

WARRANT SERVICE
Arthur Martirosyan, 28, of Buffalo Grove, is accused of failing to appear in McHenry County for a $30,000 bond. Martirosyan was a passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation at 12:15 a.m. June 7. He was processed on the charge.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
James A. Allegretti, 54, of the 1500 block of Northbrook, is accused of criminal defacement and was arrested at 4:56 p.m. June 7 at Walters Avenue and Church Street. Police received a call of a man using spray paint on electrical poles in the area. Officers located Allegretti in the area, who was identified by a witness. Police found 10 electrical poles, two traffic signs and a Meadowbrook school sign with similar spray paint. He was given a $1,500 bond and a court date of July 2.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

  • A person reported at 1:27 p.m. June 5 that they observed writing on several items at the Techny Prairie Park, 1700 block of Techny Road. It was unknown at the time of the report who had done it.
  • A police officer on routine patrol at 8:38 p.m. June 7 observed what appeared to be fresh graffiti spray-painted on the Rosin Eye Care building, in the Meadow Shopping Center, 1917 Cherry Lane.
  • A person called police at 3:05 p.m. June 8 to report that they had located graffiti on a wall and basement door in the 1700 block of Walters Avenue.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 3800 block of Sunset Lane reported at 7:20 a.m. June 8 that three unlocked vehicles parked in their driveway had been entered. Nothing appeared to be missing from any of the vehicles, however, one vehicle was found running and lodged up against a large rock in their neighbor’s yard.
  • A resident in the 4100 block of Sunset Lane called police at 9:51 a.m. June 8 that two unlocked vehicles had been entered. It is unknown if anything was missing.
  • Police responded to the 2500 block of Oak Avenue at 5:39 p.m. June 10 regarding found property. After further investigation, it was learned that the property was taken from a vehicle during an overnight burglary. The owner of the property related that the items were taken from their possibly unlocked vehicle last week.

ASSAULT

A person reported at 10:32 p.m. June 8 that while riding their bicycle on Techny Road, an unknown driver of a white van attempted to run them off the road.

STOLEN AUTO

A resident in the 2000 block of Redwood Lane called police at 10:51 a.m. June 10 to report their car was stolen during the overnight hours.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

Officers responded to a residential burglar alarm at 4:09 p.m. June 10 and found a front door open in the 1300 block of Waters Edge Lane. The door appeared to have been pried open. The owner was contacted and did not believe that anything had been taken from the residence.

THEFT

A person called police at 9:36 a.m. June 11 to report someone had removed construction equipment from the area of the 2300 block of Illinois Road.
