PAWS Chicago’s North Shore Adoption Center Named After Generous Donor - A Glencoe man has pledged $1 million to the new PAWS Chicago satellite adoption center in Highland Park, which will be named after him.

Glenn Felner, a veteran of World War II who earned a Bronze Star Medal for capturing 32 Germans and served in the Battle of the Bulge, committed to the naming level gift earlier this summer by pledging the funds to save the lives of homeless pets at the adoption center located inside the Highland Park PETCO.

City Staff in Evanston Call for Stricter Drug Testing Policy Following Accidents - The city of Evanston may decide soon to stiffen its drug testing policy.

City staff told aldermen on the Human Services Committee this week revisions to require tests for city workers after any accident or injury may be implemented.

Tennis Facility is Now ‘Deer Creek Racquet Club’ - Deer Creek Courts in Highland Park is now the Deer Creek Racquet Club.

The Park District of Highland Park Board of Commissioners approved the name change for the tennis facility at 701 Deer Creek Parkway recently. According to board president Scott Meyers, the change “provides a better descriptor for the facility and one that is easier for our customers and residents to relate to and connect with.”

Glenview Dermatologist Sued for Medical Malpractice - A Glenview dermatologist is being sued by a patient who claims she performed substandard work in an eye lift that resulted in a deformed appearance.

Margo Touris filed the suit in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Amy L. Brodsky and Brodsky Dermatology on August 28, alleging medical malpractice in a blepharoplastic procedure.
