📰 News we're reading
1. Baton Rouge regular gas stays about $3.92 as Gulf oil production starts to recover (wbrz.com) — Gas in Baton Rouge is holding around $3.92 a gallon even after Hurricane Isaias temporarily shut down much Gulf oil production, and residents say the higher costs are squeezing their budgets. Federal emergency oil releases and gradual production restarts are helping stabilize supply, but it's still unclear whether Baton Rouge drivers will see prices climb further in coming days.

Local volunteer group Cajun Navy 2016 heads to Florida for Hurricane Isaias recovery (wbrz.com) — From their Baton Rouge base, volunteers with Cajun Navy 2016 are heading to Florida to help communities hit hard by Hurricane Isaias, bringing heavy equipment, supplies, and home-cooked meals. Formed after the 2016 Louisiana floods, the group has grown into a regional rescue and recovery force, and members say Baton Rouge's spirit of neighbors helping neighbors still drives every mission they take on.

3. Retired Gen. Russel Honor urges hurricane readiness following Hurricane Isaias (wbrz.com) — Baton Rouge residents are being urged to refresh hurricane plans and supplies as retired Lt. Gen. Rising sulfur prices are squeezing U.S. manufacturers (theadvocate.com) — Soaring sulfur prices tied to disrupted global supplies are squeezing Louisiana's fertilizer and chemical industries, including Ecovyst's sulfuric acid plant in Baton Rouge.
