Cumberland police cite pair after encampment found outside abandoned building (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Cumberland officers say they cited two local residents after finding an outdoor encampment and large amount of trash outside an abandoned business on West Industrial Boulevard. Police report issuing criminal citations for outdoor bedding and littering before releasing both pending trial. The pair are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
   

2. Belligerent passenger removed from Amtrak train in Cumberland (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Police say a Minnesota Amtrak passenger was arrested Tuesday after allegedly causing a disturbance on an inbound train and remaining disorderly at the Cumberland station on East Harrison Street. Officers report he’s charged with obstructing, hindering, and disorderly conduct, and is being held at Allegany County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond while presumed innocent.
   

3. Repeat trespassing complaint leads to Cumberland man's arrest (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Cumberland police say a Mount Savage man was arrested Tuesday after returning to a North Mechanic Street property where he’d previously been warned not to trespass. Officers report they also found suspected drug paraphernalia before issuing criminal citations and releasing him pending trial. The man is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
   

4. Justin Berk begins Maryland Trek 13 in Garrett County (wvnews.com) — A week-long Maryland Trek charity hike-and-bike kicked off in Garrett County with a 41-mile first leg ending in downtown Cumberland after passing through Frostburg and other Western Maryland towns. Organizer and meteorologist Justin Berk leads teams honoring children facing cancer while raising funds statewide. The route continued from Cumberland toward Hancock and Frederick earlier this week.
