• As fire system grows, new chief pushes for unity, efficiency (nvdaily.com) — Woodstock’s volunteer fire and rescue crews are juggling rising call volumes, heavy training demands, and multimillion‑dollar responsibilities as Shenandoah County rapidly expands its career fire and EMS staffing. New county fire chief Steven Hall is pushing for tighter coordination, shared purchasing, and more administrative support so Woodstock volunteers can spend less time fundraising and paperwork and more time responding to emergencies.
