• As fire system grows, new chief pushes for unity, efficiency (nvdaily.com) — Toms Brook is slated to receive new career fire and rescue staffing as Shenandoah County rolls out 27 SAFER grant-funded firefighter and EMT positions to close response gaps. New chief Steven Hall Jr. is pushing a unified, more efficient countywide system that supports volunteers, standardizes purchasing and training, and gradually expands coverage in Fort Valley, Edinburg, and soon Toms Brook without erasing each company’s identity.
