1. 34-Year-Old Man Identified In Fatal Gaithersburg Pedestrian Crash (patch.com) — Gaithersburg residents are being informed that police have identified 34-year-old Joe Dodou of Germantown as the pedestrian killed in a crash on Maryland Route 355 near Christopher Avenue early Thursday morning. The driver of the Infiniti SUV stayed at the scene, and Montgomery County Police say the investigation remains active while they seek additional information from the public.

MD congressional candidate challenges Gaithersburg sign ordinance (thedailyrecord.com) — A congressional candidate is asking a federal judge to block Gaithersburg from enforcing parts of its sign ordinance, arguing size limits, time restrictions, and permit rules violate his campaign speech rights. The judge has so far declined emergency relief, partly because the city has not yet been formally served, but the case could affect how political signs are displayed locally.
   

4. Cirque Italia Bringing 35,000-Gallon Water Stage to Gaithersburg (mocoshow.com) — A large traveling water-themed circus show is coming to the Montgomery County Agricultural Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg from October 16–19, featuring aerialists, BMX riders, and dramatic water effects. Families can snag one free child ticket with each paid adult in select seating levels by using the online promo code, making it an accessible night out close to home.
   

5. Garden City Rolls To 68 Consecutive Wins (statelinesportsnetwork.net) — Gaithersburg's own Quince Orchard High School gets a shout-out in this national rundown of high school football streaks after beating Walter Johnson's Stone Ridge 20–6 to extend its winning run.
